Aberdeen Harbour Marine Operations Centre

Aberdeen Harbour Marine Operations Centre
ASA Listed Building 2007 The new state-of-the-art Marine Operations Centre controls all vessel movements in and out of the busy Harbour from its prominent site within the Footdee Conservation Area. It succeeds the old Navigation Control Centre, built in 1803.The design concept was the interaction of two interlocking forms: solid and light. The solid element - built from precast concrete with white aggregate as a metaphor of a lighthouse - contains the stair, lift and toilet core. The light element contains the main accommodation and has facetted glazing around its perimeter, reflecting the building's stunning setting.
