Two new houses on Spylaw Bank Road and Spylaw Avenue

Two new houses on Spylaw Bank Road and Spylaw Avenue
ASA Listed Building 2007 Two new five bedroom, two storey, family houses, replacing a demolished 1950s bungalow on a large site in the Colinton Conservation Area. The project seeks to build upon the quality and character of the best examples of the existing buildings within the neighbouring context. Simple and appropriate design, form and massing, well selected materials and finishes, together with a considered positioning of the accommodation within the plot and relative to the streetscape ensures the development reflects the best aspects and the character of the conservation area. The building on Spylaw Bank Road is positioned to address the street with a dwelling frontage rather than a garage. This maximises daylight and privacy in the new and existing buildings and leaves the building with large landscaped gardens.
