Moray Coast Health Centre and Station Health Centre
For some time now, the practice has been working with Sapphire Primary Care Developments (PCD), a primary care developer, which offers GP surgeries and NHS Trusts tailored made premises which seek to meet all their requirements within their budget.
The scheme in Lossiemouth is slightly different from all other Sapphire PCD projects because of the nature of the client group. Besides providing medical facilities for GPs and NHS Grampian, located in the Moray Coast Health Centre, the new building also serves Moray LHCC and RAF Lossiemouth in the Station Health Centre. The design had to respond, both internally and externally, to rigorous security access control issues and, whilst all under one roof, facilities for the RAF are physically separated internally and accessed from within the secured area of the base.
The Moray Coast Health Centre houses six GPs servicing over 8,000 patients and the premises offer 1,365 sq.m of accommodation with GP consulting rooms, nurse consulting rooms, treatment suites including minor ops and phlebotomy. There are also two dental surgeries, podiatry, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, child assessment facilities as well as large admin, training and staff facilities.
