Peacock Visual Arts have revealed details of a new centre for the contemporary arts to be built in Aberdeen's Union Terrace Gardens. The development is intended to become a creative powerhouse for the North-east, promoting dance, the visual arts, new media and education, and is set to be home to "the very best in contemporary arts practice". The building will house state-of-the-art gallery spaces as well as multi-purpose areas for film screenings, music performances and large scale installations. Meanwhile, core partnerships with Education and Arts Development will ensure that "the rich, varied programme reaches people of all ages and backgrounds, combating social exclusion," Peacock said in a statement.
