Architecture and Design Scotland is set to announce the identity of its new Chief Executive at the Scottish Executive’s Urban Design Conference on 24 February at the National Galleries of Scotland. Rumour has it that senior figures from the RIAS and City of Edinburgh Council will battle it out with A N Other for the prestigious position. Meanwhile, Glasgow design agency Skratch has won the tender to design a corporate identity for ADS.

The conference, Urban Design: Time to Take Stock is a major event exploring Scotland’s urban design agenda organised in conjunction with the RIAS, RTPI, Homes for Scotland and the Landscape Institute Scotland. It is an oportunity to review the success or failure of Designing Places, the planning document published by the Scottish Executive alongside the architecture policy. It will encourage debate and inform future policies. For information on the conference, contact RIAS
