20 Sep 2004
Five regeneration experts have been shortlisted to draw up a vision for a part of central Salford, which will involve creating a knowledge-based economy with the University of Salford at its core. The five teams are led by Alsop BIG, Arup Consulting, Locum Destination Consulting, and Dutch firms KCAP and s333 Architecture+Urbanism.Funding has yet to be confirmed but will draw on existing European and Whitehall programmes, including English Partnerships and the North West Development Agency. A decision will be made in November and a strategy drawn up by spring next year.
