Anderson Bell Christie to design new Glasgow Primary Schools

Anderson Bell Christie has won the competition to design Glasgow's next three primary schools at Govan, Ruchill and Tinto. Their appointment needs to be ratified by council committee, but is likely to be confirmed before Christmas. ABC was selected from a shortlist that included; jm architects, Building Design Partnership, RMJM (Glasgow), HLM and John Pardey Architects in association with Professor Sir Colin Stansfield Smith. Meanwhile the shortlist for the 'jewel in the crown' of Glasgow's primary investment programme, Hillhead Primary, has been drawn up and includes many of the same names. ABC, jm architects, HLM and BDP are contenders and are joined by gm+ad architects and London based practice dsdha. The winner will be announces after Christmas.
