MSPs have been given a final report on the cost of the Scottish Parliament building which places the final costs at £414.4 million - £16 million cheaper than expected.

Designed by the late Enric Miralles, the building was completed three years later than scheduled, at ten times the originally estimated cost and has been a controversial post-devolution issue.

Presiding officer George Reid said that no legal proceedings would be launched against the building's contractors over delays, and stated that everyone involved in the project could have "managed it better."
