£83 million project to build low cost housing in Glasgow

Glasgow City Council has allocated £83 million to the building of around 1,500 low cost homes and social housing in the Oatlands area of the city.

The project is part of the Scottish Executive’s Affordable Housing Investment Programme and will provide a range of rented accommodations, special needs housing and low cost properties for ownership.

Communities Minister Rhona Brankin said the project was not “just about bricks and mortar or a new skyline over the Clyde. It’s about investing in jobs and opportunities” as well as “breathing new life” into the area.
