The Test of Time, the Saltire Exhibition looking at 70 years of Scottish Housing design opens on Saturday 4 August and runs until 22 August. Opening times are 10-6pm. There are a number of other events taking place at the Edinburgh Festival that relate to architecture. At the Book Festival on Tuesday 14 August Simon Jenkins and Charles McKean are talking about Edinburgh’s World Hertiage status. Given Jenkins recent out burst about the Scots failure to appreciate their built heritage, this is likely to be a lively debate. On Friday 24 August Stephen Bayley is talking with Roger Mavity. The Matthew Gallery at the School of Architecture, The University of Edinburgh is hosting an exhibition inspired by the work of Gordon Pask called MAVERICK MACHINES which finishes on 10 August. The RIAS summer exhibition is called My Favourite Place.  At the ENLCA on Northumberland Street the Scottish Furniture Makers Association has an exhibition of  new Scottish furniture and the City Art Centre has an exhibition called View from the Inside which looks at interiors in Scottish art.
