Designer pushes for floating villages
26 Sep 2007
Creative designer and entrepreneur Bill Borland is putting pressure on the government and developers to adopt his idea for ‘aquatic villages.’
Floating homes have been successfully developed in the Netherlands and, if successful, his proposals would mean floating villages could be developed at the Cuningar Loop of the Clyde and at Braehead.
A decision on the development is expected towards the end of this month. Creative Mode, Borland’s company, is also working on plans for another new development in central Glasgow which could see a hotel extension, bar, offices and restaurant all floating on water.
