Plans for the £1billion Trump International golf resort in Aberdeenshire have been backed by local councillors and look likely to go ahead.
Outline planning approval has been granted for the development, however the plans must still go before Aberdeenshire Council’s infrastructure committee.
The plans have come under attack from environmental and heritage groups for the potential impact the scheme will have on the local environment and have called for a public inquiry.
The development includes two 18-hole golf courses; a 450 room hotel, conference centre and spa; 950 holiday homes; 500 homes and 36 golf villas, potentially bringing in £50 million per annum to the local economy and creating thousands of jobs.
