Scottish property developer Hazledene Group has announced the appointment of Brian Stewart as a main board Director. Stewart, the former RMJM group Chief Executive, and figure head for the Holyrood project, Stewart was ousted from his position at RMJM following the completion of the Scottish Parliament building.

Stewart will help deliver the strategic direction of the Hazledene Group, and the operations of the company’s two main trading divisions; Hazledene Estates (commercial) and Hazledene Homes (residential). He will also head up a new Edinburgh office for the group. Stewart is a consultant on Hazledene’s proposed £50million mixed-use redevelopment in Aberdeen city-centre.

Mark Shaw, Chief Executive of Hazledene, said: “The last few months have involved corporate restructuring and consolidation of our project portfolio, to bring it together under the Hazledene umbrella. It’s time to move forward, and to bring these developments to fruition while maintaining our focus on future opportunities.” The start of next year will see Hazledene projects beginning on-site with an end capital value in excess of £80 million.
