A Public Private Partnership deal, reportedly worth over £100 million, has been reached between Dumfries and Galloway Council and the E4d&g Consortium which will see 3DReid design four new build schools in the region.

3DReid will design two primary schools, one combined primary and secondary school, and one co-located primary and secondary facility.

Council Chief Executive Phil Jones said: “Throughout this process council members have maintained a consistent focus on achieving a major improvement in school provision in Dumfries and Galloway…It is good news that this commitment has now been rewarded."

Construction is to begin later on this year with the first school expected to be completed in 2009.
