Reiach and Hall design health centre for Ardrossan
Reiach and Hall has designed a state of the art health centre which is to be built at Ardrossan Harbour, pending planning approval from North Ayrshire Council.

The £5million development will incorporate a C-listed derelict police station while the design includes a GP practice with nine consulting rooms and a dental clinic with two surgeries.

Developers North Ayrshire Ventures Ltd – a joint venture company set up by North Ayrshire Council and The EDI Group – are aiming for an excellent BREEAM rating, which, if successful, would be the first such rating for a Scottish health centre.

Neil Johnson, director of North Ayrshire Ventures Ltd, said: “It’s a very significant development that will make a big difference to people in Ardrossan. It will offer a calm, pleasant environment for patients and visitors. We’ve designed a building that we hope will boost people’s spirits when they visit.”

Subject to planning approval, work will start on site later this year with completion expected Summer 2009.
