Nord head south for Olympic Substation
Glasgow based Nord Architects have unveiled design proposals for the Olympic Primary Substation, Stratford.

The key utility building for EDF Energy is designed to evoke permanency, weight and dignity appropriate to the structures role as a key part of the Olympic Park infrastructure.

A “brown roof” will be employed featuring layered crushed materials which will enhance the ecological diversity of the site by encouraging wildlife.

Working to an everyday brief Nord have created a real piece of architecture which if replicated augers well for future Olympic projects.
