This issue will focus on current and future developments in the West of Scotland. The main focus will be the early preparations for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games – we will interview the leading players involved in the preparations for the games.

Beyond Glasgow: Power 100 feature looking at Scotland’s most influential players in the design and construction industry Results of the Scottish Design Awards Interiors feature on timber Gerry Hogan of Collective Architecture reflects on the changing face of Rothesay and Bute Penny Lewis provides a progress report on the work of the Clydebank URC Feature on Critical Regionalism will address the question as to whether Scotland’s current architectural scene has a distinct identity We will look at the outcome of two competitions - Oliver Chapman’s proposals for Dumfries House and the winning scheme in the Irvine Harbour competition Review of proposals for Scotland Street and Glasgow’s waterfront. New buildings to be featured include: The Castlemilk stable conversion by Elder and Cannon The Beatson Medical Centre by Reaich and Hall New conversion in Millport by Lee Boyd Housing at Havelock Street by NORD

As the third element in our regional triptych Prospect will focus on the North of Scotland. We will carry features on a range of controversial issues particularly relevant to the North from the Aberdeen property market and oil revenues to the Trump golf course, Andre Duany’s Tornagrain and preparations for the Highland Housing Fair. Buildings featured will be; ASL’s new Dundee library extension in the context of the university campus The Culloden visitors centre by Gareth Hoskins Eden Court in Inverness by Page and Park Proposals and construction projects under review will include: The RGU new masterplan Broadfoot works Marischal College Bennett’s new library Reiach and Hall’s sports centre Collieston community centre. Issue 132 will contain the shortlist for the Roses Design Awards and an introspect feature on interior lighting.
